Nutrition Information

A diet should contain enough of the required nutrients to adequately supply the body for tissue maintenance, growth and repair. There are six major classes of nutrients: Carbohydrates, Proteins, Fats, Vitamins, Minerals and Dietary Fibres. To maintain the human body in good health a well balanced diet needs to be met. Coronary heart disease, stroke, atherosclerosis, Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, dental caries, nutritional anaemia and gall bladder disease are the major causes of death, illness and disability in Australia. All in which nutrition and nutritional behaviour play a very important role.

A diet not nutritional enough, either through a surplus or deficit of nutrients, is sure to bring about much more deep-rooted and severe health complications.

Without excess energy intake, eating a variety of nutritious foods means consuming the correct food types appropriate to attain the required nutrients the body needs to remain healthy.
